[Student Showcase] Long Yunchong, a 2022-level Undergraduate from the School of Automation, Honored as University's 2025 Top Ten Prominent Students

Long Yunchong, a 2022-level undergraduate student from the School of Automation, stood out among the university's outstanding students with his exceptional academic and research performance and comprehensive qualities, being awarded the 2025 "Top Ten Outstanding Students" title. Through his excellent academic achievements, fruitful research outcomes, and dedicated volunteer service, he demonstrates the sense of responsibility and innovative spirit of youth in the new era, becoming a role model on campus.

Ⅰ. Academic Leadership: Ranking Among the Top in His Major

Long Yunchong has ranked first in his major for two consecutive years with a solid professional foundation, achieving an average credit GPA of 4.696 in required courses. In his freshman year, he laid an academic foundation with a GPA of 4.755; in his sophomore year, despite facing more difficult courses and multiple pressures, he still maintained an excellent GPA of 4.64. With his profound knowledge reserve, he won the National First Prize in the National College Student Mathematics Competition, the National Third Prize in the National College English Competition, and other honors, laying a solid foundation for scientific research and innovation.

Ⅱ. Competition Breakthrough: Winning National Special Awards

In the field of scientific and technological innovation, Long Yunchong has scaled new heights, leading his team to win championships in multiple top competitions. As the team leader, he tackled the technical challenges of the 19th "Challenge Cup" "List 揭榜挂帅" special competition, developing the "PowerPathSmart – Three-Network Collaborative Intelligent Power Supply Recovery System," which enables rapid reconstruction of urban power supply after extreme disasters, and won the National Special Prize. In addition, in the 18th "Siemens Cup" China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge, he designed a full-process control system for industrial boilers, winning another National Special Prize, demonstrating his 硬核 (hard-core) technical strength.

Ⅲ. In-Depth Research: Exploring Academic Frontiers

Long Yunchong adheres to the principle of "applying knowledge to practice" and has engaged in multiple cutting-edge research projects. Focusing on "rotating machinery life prediction" and "adaptive image classification," he has published two EI-indexed papers, with two first-author SCI-indexed papers currently under review, and applied for two invention patents (one in the substantive examination stage). His achievements closely integrate theoretical innovation with practical applications, providing new ideas for technological breakthroughs in the industry.

Ⅳ. Service and Responsibility: Spreading the Warmth of Youth

As a student leader and volunteer, Long Yunchong embodies dedication through action. He serves as Deputy Minister of the Competition Department of the College Science and Technology Association, planning university-level science and technology competitions and assisting in the implementation of national competitions; as a class study committee member and freshman mentor, he builds a bridge between teachers and students, helping more than 100 freshmen grow. He has accumulated over 120 hours of volunteer service, spreading warmth in campus services, competition coordination, and other activities, fulfilling his responsibilities as a youth.
