On March 11, 2026, to effectively complete the pre-departure preparations for undergraduate students' overseas exchange and ensure the smooth progress of overseas study and exchange, the School of Automation held a themed pre-departure ceremony of "Study Joyfully, Study Abroad Safely" for Wang Zhuoli, the student who is about to go on an exchange to Temasek Polytechnic in Singapore, in Room 327 of Qiu Shi Building. Vice Dean Zhou Hui, Professor Xiong Binyu and Teacher Qin Wanchun of the school attended the ceremony, with student Wang Zhuoli participating.
At the ceremony, Teacher Qin Wanchun first gave pre-departure guidance to the student. Starting from the details of overseas study and life, she elaborated on travel arrangements, material preparation and local living habits, providing practical suggestions for the student to quickly adapt to the overseas environment and supporting him to make all-round pre-departure preparations.
Subsequently, Professor Xiong Binyu put forward expectations for the student on professional learning and scientific research practice in light of the characteristics and requirements of overseas scientific research practice. He urged Wang Zhuoli to take the initiative to integrate into the laboratory team of Temasek Polytechnic after arrival, maintain regular communication with supervisors at home and abroad, timely feed back research progress, keep complete records of the scientific research process, and fully leverage the high-quality academic resources and scientific research platforms overseas to improve his professional capabilities and scientific research literacy.
Vice Dean Zhou Hui delivered a concluding speech, focusing on requirements for academic growth, physical and mental health, safety protection and national image. She emphasized that the student should prioritize academic studies overseas and balance exchange study with the graduation project; keep a close eye on his physical and mental health and communicate with the school and family in a timely manner when encountering problems; raise safety awareness, familiarize himself with local laws, regulations and customs to protect his personal safety; and strengthen his identity awareness, consciously safeguard the national image and the school's reputation, and show the good demeanor of Chinese young people and students of Wuhan University of Technology.
At the end of the ceremony, the school presented a carefully prepared pre-departure gift package to Wang Zhuoli. All teachers wished him a smooth exchange study at Temasek Polytechnic in Singapore, and hoped that he would broaden his horizons and enhance his abilities through overseas study and practice, truly living up to the motto of "Study Joyfully, Study Abroad Safely".
