On the afternoon of March 19, 2026, Professor Zhao from the Department of Civil Engineering and Head Neelakantam Venkatarayalu from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) visited the School of Automation, Wuhan University of Technology (WUT). A cooperation negotiation meeting was held in Conference Room 327 of Qiushi Building, where the two sides held in-depth discussions on academic exchanges, joint course development, research collaboration and other matters. Present at the meeting were Dean Zhou Keliang, Vice Deans Li Xiangshun and Zhou Hui, Head Huang Yunhui of the Department of Applied Electronics, and Qin Wanchun, International Affairs Secretary from the School of Automation, WUT.

At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Zhao from SIT introduced the university’s history, educational characteristics and disciplinary strengths. As the fifth public university in Singapore, SIT adopts a practice-oriented and industry-cooperative philosophy, committed to nurturing high-quality engineering talents to meet the demands of global technological development. Subsequently, Head Neelakantam Venkatarayalu elaborated on SIT’s curriculum, teaching models and talent training system, highlighting its innovative practices and successful experience in applied talent cultivation.
On behalf of the School of Automation, WUT, Dean Zhou Keliang extended a warm welcome to the SIT delegation and gave a comprehensive introduction to the school’s development, discipline construction, faculty strength and research achievements. He noted that the school adheres to the development strategy of “open education and international cooperation” and actively expands exchanges with world-class universities. This negotiation has built an important bridge for both sides, and he hoped to take this meeting as an opportunity to promote substantive cooperation in various fields and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
During the open discussion session, the two sides had in-depth exchanges on the planning of seminar academic activities, joint development of summer courses, research cooperation mechanisms, student exchange programs and employment resource sharing. Preliminary consensus was reached on seminar and summer course cooperation, with expectations for future collaboration.

The visit by the SIT delegation has laid a solid foundation for the establishment of long-term cooperation between Wuhan University of Technology and Singapore Institute of Technology. Taking this meeting as a starting point, the two sides will further deepen exchanges and cooperation to jointly cultivate high-quality talents with international vision and innovative capabilities.
